More dogs in the neighborhood often means less crime
- kstenerud 4y agoAaaaand they got it completely backwards. The neighborhoods are not made safe by the number of people walking their dogs. It's neighborhoods that are already safe and more affluent that make it possible for more people to even have dogs (let alone care for them enough to take them for regular walks), and feel safe walking dogs (and also why there is a higher level of trust).
- anigbrowl 4y agoPlausible, but one might equally conjecture that people in safer neighborhoods also have the disposable income to drop a few thousand $ a year on a heckin' woofer.
- vgeek 4y agoWhat about those of us who have dogs to walk and simultaneously look for ongoing crimes to join in on? Also, important viewpoints from affected parties were importantly left out-- notably squirrels, rabbits and chipmunks who may be much more likely to be on the receiving end of barkicular assault and/or aggravated barkery.
