- matthewdgreen 4y agoMaybe. However the US and other successful democratic nations all have episodes of rampant corruption in their past, and have all done a lot to eliminate it. The key ingredient in fighting corruption is an effective and legitimate government, which is hard to get without democracy (though some nations are trying.)
