The title of the article is not related or justified by the data they used. The essential xkcd: https://xkcd.com/605/ https://xkcd.com/605/
I take issue in such ideologically driven pieces of over-simplified, frivolous, and unhinged anti-intellectualism on a topic of such importance . It is contributing only negatively to the debate on such an important/vital topic to humanity. It gives false hopes and false ammunition for bad arguments for those who do not understand (politicians) to enable processes that do the exact opposite to the state goals (ie. Germany, EV cars, etc).
In the real world there are only trade-offs with any- and every-thing. For a society/civilization wealth is not the default setting automatically and unconditionally provided by nature/reality, poverty is. This is the basis of discussing any implication of any such research and its recommendation on policy.
