I can second that. Loading is glacial, and when the uplink is not at its fastest, you have to wait for some items—name of user above each post for crying out loud—to pop into existence (many) seconds after the rest of the page has loaded. Why?
Also the new design breaks the back button. No site that breaks the back button can be said to be designed correctly. Test: open a Reddit discussion thread, scroll down someway, then enter new URL in address bar, then hit the back button. The page loads exactly as slowly as for the first time, and it will stick to the top, not scroll down to the point where you left it.
Notifications are implemented in an atrocious way, too. I'd much prefer to get a link to the (updated) original link with the relevant content hilited and scrolled into view. Also apparently when you have several notifications the icon gets cleared when you click on one of them.
Also recently it occurred to me that when I make a comment an in-page info box appears, '1 new comment'. Yeah, I know, that was me.
I could go on.
Like with those black-bordered pages that only show part of threads and are filled to the brim with links to ads and other stuff I might be interested in. So eager to please, so eager to idolize ENGAGEMENT it drives the crap out of me. This is UNGAGEMENT.
