What sucks is they have been clear cutting forests to build solar farms here... Wind is great, reusing former farm land is fine, but leveling a forested area to leave a dust field is so sad.
- seoaeu 4y agoIt is far more sad seeing “environmental” organizations oppose desperately needed renewable energy, because they want to save a few trees.
- petee 4y agoWhy is it desperately needed? People have chosen to waste ridiculous amounts of energy on a wide range of stupid things, why should the rest of us suffer loss of natural habitats to support that? The point of renewable energy is to help the environment, not kill and replace it. We are talking about RI, not India, we have plenty of wind, and already use natural gas in the interim, and we are not in any shortage. Other places can make great use of solar fields, because they have the space for them.

- rbanffy 4y agoNuclear doesn’t always destroys habitats, but when it does, it does it very thoroughly.
- nine_zeros 4y agoIt amazes me that states in New England still continue to raze forests for sfh tracts. Population is declining. Why does new housing need forests to be destroyed? Oh yes, because nobody wants to do the hard work of redeveloping houses from the 1700s
