Have you tried using plain esbuild and sass in watch mode? That was what gave our app an immense speed boost. I’ve seen some of the same issues you have, with large entrypoints causing slow pageloads due to the number of source files, but fortunately not that large yet. Manually splitting the app into multiple smaller entrypoints have helped there. If HMR wasn’t so useful I would just have used raw esbuild instead, though.
