Germany Faces Collapse of Entire Industries on Russian Gas Supply Cuts
- jleyank 4y agoNot every bet pans out, and there is a cost for those that don’t. Perhaps they assumed Europe had moved beyond its history of conflict. Perhaps they assumed that economic ties would unite. Perhaps they just took the money and the easy way out of an energy budget. No business that the government wants to continue will end. Businesses that truly fill consumer needs will also continue. Pain will pass, probably with a resolve to be more energy independent. Or, they’ll ignore history and do it again in a few years to avoid hard decisions.
