It’s amazing to compare the energy consumption of a network where the all time high of total worldwide transactions in a 24 hour period is 1.7 million. Compared to the entire energy consumption of a country (Netherlands) with a population of 18 million people.

- mattwilsonn888 4y agoTx count is less important than tx volume, which, for practical purposes, is arbitrarily large in the case of Bitcoin.

- dataangel 4y ago1 transaction can transfer 1 billion dollars worth of Bitcoin. The number of transactions is what is limited, not how many coins can be moved. I disagree with parent though, they're both important.
