I was struck by a partial similarity to Ada Tasks. Anyone with more knowledge able to contrast the Nursery paradigm with task/rendevous in Ada?
- cb321 4y agoI am no expert on Ada, but it was probably inspired by Dijkstra's 1965 Cooperating Sequential Processes with his "parbegin/parend" additions to Algol 60. Or perhaps by the wildly popular Communicating Sequential Processes by Hoare in 1985 (the 3rd most cited thing in Computer Science for over 20 years after publication) which called the control brackets "cobegin/coend" in Hoare's section 7.2.2.
