Tailscale it not a VPN intended to proxy all your traffic, it’s designed to allow all your devices, wherever they are, to be able to communicate as if they are in the same LAN. From a privacy perspective Tailscale never see the keys to decrypt this traffic, and as mush as possible the traffic goes point to point, not through a Tailscale server. That said you do have to trust them to orchestrate setting up the keys across machines.
