The guy who originally posted that claims and screenshot has been creating a bunch of clickbait articles for some time, a few people have questioned the validity of his claim or at least wondered if he has a faulty unit.
For example here is someone trying to replicate this but ended up seeing the complete opposite results:
"Here’s the m2 MacBook Pro 13 rendering 8k canon raw footage for 15 minutes straight with no fans, no high temp, no anything." - https://twitter.com/every_daydad/status/1542534316433068033?s=21&t=GwH_SpimRO-c1tfMvNtj7w https://twitter.com/every_daydad/status/1542534316433068033?...
- sudosysgen 4y ago>rendering 8k canon raw footage That's a horrible benchmark for maximum thermal stress, and thus really doesn't mean anything.
- reitzensteinm 4y agoIsn't this hardware accelerated on the M2?

- smoldesu 4y agoOf course the fans aren't turning on, you don't need to cool hardware-accelerated media processing. Both the CPU and GPU are around 0%, this is about equally as impressive as saying that the Machine Learning Engine is running at full-throttle without the fans running, or that the display brightness is maxed-out without the screen getting too hot.
