I've lived in that state for 20 years. The last two years were relatively exceptional. I think this is a generational thing. Sorry folks. This is how it often is every few years, in the business cycle. If you haven't lived the previous cycles, then it may be a headline shock. If you have, you won't be relaxed about it, but cynical and defensive in your savings and other life strategies.
