A common gripe I hear from foreigners is that customs/quarantine at the airport is way too strict. But this is a good example of why. We're a giant island with the opportunity to keep unwanted diseases/pests/etc out. Most Australians are supportive of this, so when your favourite celebrity has a sook about their dog not getting through, just know that we don't care.
