I hope there is a lot of pushback, this will undoubtedly be accompanied by some type of social credit system. I don't think it will be as extreme as the one in China, but worrying nonetheless. On the other hand, it would be nice if states in the U.S. offered some type of digital equivalent, been in situations where I don't have my physical ID and the counter-party refuses to accept a picture as proof.
