- Ekaros 4y agoIt is nice after a few months in cold and wet... But even then max one or two weeks with access to AC... Long term, yeah I don't really see the attraction.
- cdelsolar 4y agoI don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating — and it gets everywhere.
- jononomo 4y agoYou can live at elevation in the tropics -- that way you have mountains and cooler weather -- you don't have to be at the beach.
- JJTembahee 4y agoAlso, insects the size of a small pony. In the past I almost became a nomadic worker but to do my work properly I need better ergonomics than a laptop. Hauling large displays and a tower case around the world didn't appeal. So I have stayed put. No regrets.
- jstarfish 4y agoThere's also casual nudity and an abundance of cheap alcohol, so there's something for everybody from the colder/more-conservative parts of the world. (On that note-- I'd ask the same question about nudist beaches. So much sand!)
- jjeaff 4y agoWhen I go to Hawaii from southern California, I find myself ready to get back home to the nice weather after a few days. There are only 3 or 4 small regions outside of the Mediterranean basin that have a warm (not hot) summer Mediterranean climate and southern California is one of them, and the only region with such a climate in the US.
