Found this video which demonstrates the usage of a throat mic in an operating room. It's not perfect but it works quite well. I had never heard of this thing before but it's rather cool!
- hardwaresofton 4y agoAwesome thanks for finding this -- One of the pictures on the ASUS site was of people in an operating room... but none of them were wearing the throat mic so I was wondering... Another use case that's almost the polar opposite of the other use case.
- closewith 4y agoI suspect the OP's throat mics weren't actual laryngophones like the one in use by the surgeon.
- newaccount74 4y agoBut the sound quality is really really bad! Every phone/laptop built-in mic or headset boom mic sounds better.
- philliphaydon 4y agoIt actually sounds better than I was expecting. And cuts out a lot of background noise.
- robga 4y agoHere is a positive 4.6/5 review of it being used on a motorbike https://www.webbikeworld.com/iasus-stealth-throat-microphone/ https://www.webbikeworld.com/iasus-stealth-throat-microphone...
