I once modded an old Casiotone MT-52 (the one with superdrums!) from 1985 (I think) where you can mix and match any drum pattern stored as a basic digital waveform with any analog filter, basically acting in the middle of the vowel/consonant synthesis. With all its limitations it's still a very fun machine to play with, but above all I'm amazed at how good it sounds everytime I tinker with it.
