Scientists are selecting for Paxlovid-resistant SARS-CoV-2 strains
- Metacelsus 4y agoExposing SARS-CoV-2 to low doses of nirmatrelvir (active ingredient in Paxlovid) generates resistant strains. But did we really need to do these experiments? It seems very foolish to intentionally generate these resistance mutations.
- atoav 4y agoThere are a lot of things that are foolish if there is no safety in place. I guess the number of risk assessments that have to be done for such a thing are higher than what we know from our jobs.
