Excess CO2, and the impacts on human cognition from it, are the great threat to civilization. We need geoengineering to strip CO2 out of the atmosphere. Iron seeding* and global Carbon Taxes seem like the best options.

- gravypod 4y agoCody's lab has a great video on this topic. This would also, in thousands of years, create new deposits of oil.
- gojomo 4y agoThousands of years, or millions?
- pastor_bob 4y agothe rich will be able to afford CO2 scrubbers for their airtight houses. Way cheaper
- easytiger 4y agoAre you suggesting that the general atmospheric co2 will be so high air will be unbreathable?
- pastor_bob 4y agoThey can rise high enough that general indoor levels (which are usually higher) will be high enough to cause constant cognition problems
- easytiger 4y agoModern building techniques and energy efficient designs can ensure that anyway. Regardless of external co2 levels.
- ncmncm 4y agoCivilization will collapse first, so no.
- john-radio 4y agoIt doesn't really matter if it's in your house or not; the problem is global warming that's caused by the greenhouse effect that's caused by the CO2 in the upper atmostphere. I like the cut of your gib though.
- ParksNet 4y agoIndoor CO2 scrubbers (even just to separate CO2 from inside air and exhaust it outside) would be a great technology right now, since it would allow us to reduce ventilation requirements and thus save on heating/cooling costs.

- halfjoking 4y agoI think accelerated weathering is the best option: https://www.vesta.earth/ https://www.vesta.earth/ During the Permian extinction CO2 was 3000 ppm - weathering rocks is how it was fixed back then. We just need to accelerate that natural process.
