That has happened to me as well. "You are the best engineer we have by far, but we can't pay you more, I'm sorry". I left shortly. At least they were honest.

- gsibble 4y agoThat was pretty much exactly what happened, and I was working 100 hour weeks. I was promised 3 weeks off after we launched and they reneged. When that happened, I gave notice.
