Does Bored Apes own these images? I thought the sale of the asset was suppose to transfer ownership. How can Bored Apes claim to represent these assets for others? Or, does the sale of the NFT not give copyright assignment? (Oh, I see it’s not a copyright claim. That’s weird.) It would seem this lawsuit is more in the interest of the issuing company, not the holders of the NFTs themselves, especially given the approach to litigation here. It would have made more sense to just acquire the other images to protect the ecosystem, especially given the price point.
