Elon Musk has been missing for 8 days, and no one knows why
- irthomasthomas 4y agoEveryone chill. Musk is fine, I just met him playing golf with Jack Ma. Sorry I forgot to take a photo. But a person that makes affordable wire and bead jewellery did an interview with him, that was definitely not phoned in and which they will soon share with us all. So everything is normal. Jokes aside, this week Musk turned 51 and his twitter account surpassed 100M followers... crickets... pretty strange.
- mikece 4y agoHaven't his lawyers been telling him stop, along with the SEC? He's in the unique position that using the platform he's trying to acquire could have insider trading consequences, especially if he's turning up evidence of bots being much higher than Twitter ever admitted. That's materially relevant to his acquisition bid as well as to shareholders and could be construed as publishing insider info. I'm surprised went quiet only 8 days ago and not when the deal to acquire Twitter was announced.
- irthomasthomas 4y agoFTA: "Musk, like many of us, has taken Twitter breaks before. In June 2020 — shortly after the birth of his son, X — Musk announced that he'd be "off Twitter for a while," only to return four days later. And in 2019, he quit tweeting for all of three days after pondering the "good" of Twitter." So, it is uncharacteristic of him to take a break without announcing it, and unprecedented to be missing more than 3 days.
