Ask HN: DDG [term] no results; shows result if [term] surrounded by quotes. Why?
The term I was searching for was `bookdepository`

- Tom_Bombadil_ 4y agoNot sure if I was clear enough. The term is without backticks or anything surrounding the text.
- jmprspret 4y ago"[term]" with quotes is considered by the search engine (Google included) to be an exact match. This means that the text in quotes MUST appear in the page content/page title. Why there are different results without quotes is probably due to some bias/glitch in the search engine.
