Yeah this nails it. In my distributed systems class, the first thing we learned was that communication of a network was not guaranteed. I remember thinking, well how do you do anything? And then it dawned on me, that's literally why we have this as a field. I think the same kind of thinking applies for all the simple things in each domain.
