    The "second largest contingent" would be a good argument for something that's based on consensus, eg some science. Otherwise - like in this case - it's just https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argumentum_ad_populum https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argumentum_ad_populum.
