It is interesting though how birth rates have dropped during pandemic. Probably due to lockdowns and other restrictions that caused people to delay dating, marriage and decisions to have a baby.
Linking this to vaccines is completely unjustified though. Sad that smart people become so obsessed with wrong ideas.
- JoeyBananas 4y agoIf the the lockdowns are causing birthrates to drop, I think that's a huge deal and it should not be ignored. In many countries, demographics across are skewing towards the older direction and this is likely to cause major issues ib the future
- philliphaydon 4y agoWhen there weren't lock-downs alot of people didn't go out as much as they used to, my family avoided going out for dinner and such for a long time due to not having the MRNA vaccines available. (thanks China) Once the vaccines became available people started to go out more often, feeling safer. While we are going through alot of cases at the moment, the hospitals are not overwhelmed and people are managing very well. The vast majority of deaths are elderly or people with underlying conditions. So I wouldn't attribute it solely to lockdowns but mainly to people being too worried to go out and socialize. Lockdowns definitely do play their part. But it's also very expensive to live in Taiwan that having a kid is not something everyone is jumping up and down to do.
