Same reason tesla built a one off Frankenstein model S to try and get a nurbuergring time to quote against a production Porsche.
- leobg 4y agoYou mean this? "Tesla Model S Plaid just set official world speed record for a production electric car at Nurburgring. Completely unmodified, directly from factory." [0] [0] https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1436086743720251394 https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1436086743720251394
- nikau 4y agooh you mean the "However, it's worth noting that as of publishing, the time has yet to be certified and approved by Nurburgring officials." lap?
- leobg 4y agoI don't understand what you're talking about. If you have any special knowledge on the subject, please share it. The last comment claimed the vehicle had been a one-off, non-production car. I know nothing about Nürburgring. I just googled and found the above quote from Elon, saying that it was an unmodified car. I asked you whether that is the instance you were talking about. Now you're saying the lap time hasn't been certified. You seem to be switching arguments.
