Mondegreen – Mis-Hearing or Mis-Interpretation of a Phrase to Give a New Meaning
- Trouble_007 4y agoMy own personal Mondegreen was 'Modern English' - 'I Melt with You', which I first heard on AM-radio. The Lyric I 'heard' was "I'll stop the world and {meld} with you" and not "I'll stop the world and {melt} with you" In my mind, I heard 'Meld' as in; To mix together so that the components are indistinguishable, i.e. an amalgam, an amalgamation. Synonyms: blend, mix, conflate, commingle, immix, fuse, coalesce, combine, merge.
