Epic's 95/5 Split for Fortnite Content Creators
- sushid 4y ago> Sounds like we have a solution to Epic’s years-long complaint about Apple and Google taking a 15–30 percent cut of in-app transactions. They should follow Epic’s lead and take a 95 percent cut instead. Support a creator, indeed. Content creators get nothing on Google and Apple's platform. Epic is essentially giving out a 5% referral bonus that no other company in their industry provides. Apples to oranges, anyone?

By contrast, Amazon only offers 1% for video games: https://www.smartpassiveincome.com/guide/amazon-affiliate-program/ https://www.smartpassiveincome.com/guide/amazon-affiliate-pr...
- hjkl0 4y agoI think the author is very likely to misunderstand anything as long as they can be snarky about someone perceived as “anti-apple”, even in the most transparent and obvious ways, and even in defense of Apple’s most odious policies.
