COVID was especially bad for public restrooms. At first, it kind of made sense, but it was something that I knew wasn't going to come back 100%. So many places just didn't bother reopening their restrooms (at least here in the North East US). I'm fortunate to not have anything like the author, but we all have times when nature calls and you're in a bit of a pickle. Something about that is such an uncomfortable feeling. I do have to say that it's one benefit of WFH that doesn't get talked about. If you're having a bad stomach day, it's a lot easier/less awkward than it would be in the office.
