Philip K. Dick, NLP and the next Google
- hansword 4y agoGood read. Author writes Dick predicted four technologies: * forensic text analysis * automatic text generation * SEO, aka writing for machine demands * hyper-personalized recommendation engine Author says these are all kinda inevitable, the first three are already contemporary, so we should expect the fourth to come rather soon.
- he11ow 4y agoThat's a good summary! There's a skill to pulling the essence into tight sentences, I like that.
- rurban 4y agoWell the 4th technology was easily replaced by majority media control. Which Noam Chomsky describes so well in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manufacturing_Consent https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manufacturing_Consent. There's no need for personalized links, when you can easily control all link targets in mass media via unregulated consolidation.

What this article helped me realize is you don't need a direct brain interface; just total information control. Ugh!
