Possibly an unpopular opinion but we have spent the post WWII period making prolonged adolescence more desirable, what exactly did we think was going to happen? We built a welfare state that removes most of the penalty of not having children, removed all the stigma of out of wedlock sex, most of the stigma of drug use and abandoned religion. We let identity marxism sneak into the spot previously occupied by religion, replacing the goal of becoming an adult with mass confusion from an unintelligent, wrong headed ideology. I don't see any example in history where the carrot of more desirable adulthood beat out the equivalent of being a tinder f#ck boi across a whole society where there was no stigma of that behavior. This leads me to believe the stick works far better than the carrot
