I think the crux of the matter is, how many creators were making a living before? Also not that many. We're comparing one business model that was broken (for the vast majority of creators) to another that is also broken. It seems abundantly clear to me that there are way more TV shows and music acts with global audience than there were before. This doesn't mean they make a decent living.
