He would say the reward is a meaningful life.
- 202206241203 4y agoWith the traditional family gone, that is probably the only thing left. Luckily, meaning can be found in different ways.
- hotpotamus 4y agoIs that to say you provide very measurable toil for intangible benefit?
- trentearl 4y agoI'm not a big fan of his so I'm not sure, I just remember him saying responsibility is a prerequisite to a meaningful life.
- hotpotamus 4y agoI think in some sense I agree with that idea. I think most people actually want to work and be a part of their community. The problem with modern Libertarian types (and I think Peterson is one) is that it's this utter Little House on the Prairie fantasy that has no idea how to deal with the modern realities of capital, and how it can subvert your freedom more effectively than the government they seek to vilify. And I think most people sense that now intuitively even if they can't put that into words. I believe Marx called it alienation of labor, but of course he's been quite effectively vilified as well.
