All the great ideas for starting a software company have been taken and executed.
And if you have a great idea which hasn’t been taken, it is most likely a feature that the big tech companies will just steal anyway. (e.g Clubhouse)
The competition is far too great to start a startup.

- muzani 4y agoIt's ironic, but HN is one of the most anti-startup communities out there. I think because running a startup is well within the grasp of most people here, but there's a personal reason not to, and like religious or political beliefs, it gets amplified.
- b20000 4y agoi think that this really should read “you can build it but you probably can’t buy the required visibility or user base to achieve critical mass”. i think these days the problem is not how to build something but where you find the money to be able to compete.
