My first laptop was a Dell which I bought circa 2000 and cost about 4,000 in today's money. I thought they were the best. But later on the Quality Assurance Auditor for a company I once worked for told me that he did the following: After purchasing a Dell laptop with "Gold" support backup he could not get the support to fix his particular issue. Numerous attempts failed so he brought the laptop to the local Dell factory and smashed it to pieces using a sledgehammer in the carpark in front of the entrance. I am not making that up and I believe he really did it.
