The author makes a bold statement and it is a bit aggressive, but he is right about Gnome devs removing features people use when they think people shouldn't use. People complain about Gnome not because their mobile-like interface, but because Gnome devs always remove features people use. They do this since Gnome 2 and even Linus Torvalds complaint about it multiple times.
