It's a shame the abortion debate is overtaken by radicals on both sides when the majority of Americans would prefer laws similar to most European nations: legal abortion within the first trimester.
- joshstrange 4y ago> radicals on both sides Spare me... > legal abortion within the first trimester And one party is pushing to make it 6 weeks (or less) or no abortions at all. Tell me more about "both sides".
- ausbah 4y agoits not really "both sides" when only one side is having a say in how the ruling is handed down
- insickness 4y agoYeah, that's how the supreme court works. Previously it was the other side who handed down a ruling.
- ausbah 4y agoyes so right now there is no debate, its one side imposing their beliefs unilaterally. there is no "both sides" when only one side has power
- insickness 4y agoDemocrats control the House, Senate and Presidency. That's hardly one-sided.
- ausbah 4y agoand conservatives control SCOTUS, which is the party we are discussing here.
- insickness 4y agoCongress can make new laws or constitutional amendments, so SCOTUS is not all we're discussing here. Nor did SCOTUS take away the rights of states to allow abortion. There is no "one side" having their say on this matter.
