SpaceX moves a rocket with 33 engines to its launch pad for tests
- ilrwbwrkhv 4y agoElon should be allowed special privileges on account of how much he has pulled humanity forward.
- tomatotomato37 4y agoIt's interesting that that is 3 more engines than the first stage of the USSR's N-1 rocket, which theoretically could have beaten the US in the space race. It's also has been bestowed with the honor of creating one of the biggest non-nuclear explosions in human history.
- 908B64B197 4y ago> By way of comparison, the one-time propulsion leader in the United States, Aerojet Rocketdyne, has set a goal of building four RS-25 rocket engines for NASA's Space Launch System a year. SpaceX is now building at least four Raptor rocket engines a week. The two engines are comparable in terms of their overall power. What SpaceX is doing is truly incredible. They have literally years of advance on their closest competitors, and are overperforming over any other rocket company, be private or government sponsored, to such a degree it's no contest. All happening right here in America, by an all American team.
- michelb 4y agoImagine what they could do with an international team! Really like to see space demilitarized.
- puffoflogic 4y agoAnd it'll all be for naught thanks to American godvernment allowing BS hyperregulation and hyperlitigation to prevent them making any profit.
