The article doesn't mention the climate impact, but there's a cost to people moving from a big walkable coastal city with decent public transport and dense housing (e.g. NYC, Boston, Philadelphia) to a city where you're driving everywhere and the AC's on for six months out of the year. I understand the author's politics are basically "that stuff is for wussy liberals" but it should concern us all.
