Learning languages is overrated. Yes, get really good with at least 1 language you like, and get acquainted with languages you know you will need to use, but don't think that you must master all of them or that you can't pick them up as you go. In general, languages share fundamental features and constructs, and there comes a point where learning a new one is mostly a matter of figuring out how to accomplish something with a different syntax or paradigm. This is why taking time to explicitly learn about a language without a more precise goal can be wasteful.
