What caused Russia to invade Georgia in 2008 then?

- corrral 4y agoThere's... a bit more background than that. Russian activity to fracture the country and outright threats of resolving the situation with military force, date back years before Georgia sought NATO membership, and indeed, before the '03 pro-western shift in their government. Which, gee, I wonder why they might have decided they want allies opposed to Russia.
