Active Resistance to Metrication
- jleyank 4y agoHabits are strong. Tribal nature is strong. Anything can be made political. It's the UK and they've left the EU so no more metric units. Whose foot was used?
- Nextgrid 4y agoJust FYI the recent talk about the UK potentially going to imperial units was just a distraction since the PM got into some trouble and needed to divert the attention away.
- kazinator 4y agoI was born and raised in Europe, on centimeters. I like inches. The mil unit is fantastic too; so nice for circuit board layout. 25 mil through hole, 100 mil pin spacing. Good for wire gauges. Guitar strings: 9 to 46, etc. I also like my 1024 byte kilobytes, 1024x1024 megabytes and 1024x1024x1024 gigabytes.
