Lua would be good. Device drivers need not be all about high performance especially for initial development. Lua would be fast enough for plenty of purposes.

- nequo 4y agoNetBSD has Lua support.[1] Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a lot of published material on it. One interesting application I found was secmodel_sandbox[2] which used it to implement something similar to AppArmor. - nequo 4y agoMy understanding is that FreeBSD only uses Lua in the bootloader. Has it made its way into the kernel too?
