I haven't watched a Disney movie since - dunno, Frozen? So almost 10 years. I'm an adult in my mid 30s, loved Disney as a kid.
But I do understand my peers (mostly women) that do LOVE Disney. Nostalgia is really powerful stuff - and I do observe other peers in my age group that collect NES / SNES / Sega / PS1 / PC games etc. from the times we grew up. You really don't see much hate towards these people - nor should anyone!
Sure it may look a bit cringe and off when grown adults get completely enamored in things that are mainly geared toward kids, but that's nostalgia and comfort media. Adult life can be bland, menial, hard - so of course people will seek various forms of escapism.
But, Disney as a corporation - that's another story. But I don't think these "Disney adults" really give much thought into that.
