- hervature 4y agoFiber optics cables are made of glass whose primary constituent is silicon dioxide and/or quartz which are the primary constituents of sand.

- jaredhallen 4y agoTo be fair, fiber cable itself is actually pretty cheap in the scheme of things. It's the installation and termination that account for the bulk of the cost
