The problem is that any new term needs to be trademarked and licensed for use so that it doesn't become misused by large consultancies repackaging what they do now as "the new thing" or misrepresented by others that are seeking to damage it compared to their "way".
Martin Fowler described "Semantic Diffusion" to describe when a term doesn't mean anymore what was originally intended. DevOps in many cases suffers from it.
