I’m so torn on crypto, I see some really interesting applications of blockchain, but overall the crypto bros just ruin everything.
They always seem to attract the worst characters I’ve worked with who think they can bypass their shortcomings with some “deep” understanding of economics that the “establishment” doesn’t get.
There are abounding thought patterns similar to antivaxxer style thinking
- yieldcrv 4y agoI'm a fan of the rapid iteration, permission to fail is better than needing permission to try. I don't see an equivalent in many other sectors. Not sure what experience you are having, there are many different circles and networks in the crypto space. To me, it's all getting better. At least from the development side. Many things I used to have to pay developers $100,000 for across 6 months of development are free code now. Things from only 5 years ago and sometimes just 2 years ago! Allowing for even more rapid iteration of more complex projects, or maybe not added complexity but less distraction allowing a builder to focus on different things. These costs weren't because of any crypto-boom, just rates for time of development. So we're probably enamored by different things, and for anyone passing by I'm definitely not making any claims on relative utility, but this is what I like about that ecosystem.
