saying linux is cancer (and communism even though this is only seen as a terrorizing thing mostly in the US) were pretty strong statements. strongarming companies to NOT sell computers with linux is not so far in the past either. I 100% understand if someone is suspicious of MS. That said, corporations are driven by profit and MS's views on how to profit have changed in the last 20 years. Obviously this shift is driven by a changing world, not ideology. Bottomline, M$ is still a for profit company, supporting open source projects is sth the world needs more of and if there are no strings I do not care where the (legal)money come from.
