Just to nitpick, it sounds like you mean "women in the workforce" and not (broader term) "gender equality" as being the reason for the decrease in sex. It should be fair to say that careerism has resulted in less free time for family and less time for chores which also puts a damper on the bedroom when everyone argues over all the work that has to get done.
